Well with the lead up to the mackerel run finally over. These fish are here in strong numbers, Some of our 5 and 7hr offshore fishing trips last week we ended up with over 30 fish, a mixture of Spanish and spotted mackerel coming aboard.

Whilst heading out last week we noticed extra bird and bait action so the decision was made to troll out through the bay, we were pleasantly surprised by a very quick double hook up, followed by multiple more double and triple hook-ups (fun!). The Spanish have been coming on the troll and the spotties we have been casting at in huge schools These fish are a LOT of fun but also fantastic eating. And is personally my favourite style of fishing.

With the silly season over and hopefully not too much bad weather around, more trips will be run up to double island point (9 & 12hr) where the reef fishing is always amazing along with sport fishing and the 5 & 7hr fishing charters on the locals will target both reef species along with these mackerel and tuna etc…
